Martin started practicing yoga regularly in 2008 once he realized that it brought peace, relaxation, and balance to his otherwise sedentary and stressful lifestyle. It was the Shavasana (final relaxation pose) that got him addicted to yoga.
Starting first with traditional Hatha yoga classes, he later transitioned to more dynamic styles of yoga.
Inevitably, he developed a curiosity about other all other aspects of yoga, quit his 9-5 job and traveled to India in pursuit of an overall practice of yoga. He never looked back.
After completing 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training with Sampoorna Yoga India, he attended another 200-hour Hatha Yoga Teacher Training at Mahadevi Ashram in Guatemala. From his first training he learned how to practice Ashtanga yoga by himself and this way he became independent of yoga studios and teachers. He learned the art of hands-on adjustments and alignment from Kamal Singh during his third 200-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training at Tattvaa Yoga Shala in Rishikesh, India.
Martin's adjustments are simply incredible and he will teach them to you in the training courses.
In 2018, he completed a 40-hour Ashtanga Yoga Teacher Training Course with David Swenson in Italy. David is one of only a handful of Westerners to have learned the full Ashtanga system as originally taught by K. Pattabhi Jois. Through this short but intensive course, Martin re-affirmed the adjustments that he learned in India.
Martin attended workshops with David Robson at Purple Valley in Goa, India and when he's in India, he continues his studies with Regina Elhers, certified by Sri. K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute in Mysore, India.
Martin understands the challenges of deepening a yoga practice through years of dedicated personal practice. Living in the Czech Republic in a small town without an ashtanga studio, Martin practices ashtanga on his own every day. He uses this knowledge to help the students in the training courses to learn correct and safe alignment of the postures. The certificates are nothing without a dedicated daily yoga practice.
Martin has a great sense of humor. He facilitates, encourages and inspires his students with his devotion and knowledge. He teaches Ashtanga, alignment, hands-on adjustments and workshops in the 200 hour instructor courses and hands-on adjustments in the 300-hour yoga teacher training.
Since 2015, he has been teaching on yoga teacher training courses.
Martin has a Master's Degree in Thermal Engineering and a diploma in International Business and Management.
