Take your existing skills to a new level with this one week YTT in Greece
Some teachers are certified but lack the skills to teach. Come and learn all that was missing from your 200hr YTT in this 1 week yoga course in Greece.
This 50 hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed for yoga teachers. It will help you refine your already existing knowledge and skills. This course is ideal if you don't have the time (or money) to take an advanced 300-hour yoga teacher training.
A prerequisite to joining this yoga course is a completed 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training. You will refine your teaching skills as a yoga instructor while enjoying being a student again. 3 passionate and experienced teachers will be there to support and guide you through this advanced YTT. This course is taking place along the 300hr YTT, and you can join us in the first or 2nd week. Should you fancy (and we know you will) you can stay with us longer and why not for the whole 300hr YTT?
At Alpha Yoga School, we believe that we are all constantly moving towards growth and knowledge as both yoga students and yoga teachers. Practicing and teaching yoga is a never-ending path of evolution.
"There's always room for change, but you have to be open to that change" - Kathryn Budig
One-week YTT in Details
- Meditation
- Morning asana classes
- Teaching skills and practicum
- Alignment and hands-on adjustments
- Sequencing
- Certification
- Location
We will teach you advanced Pranayama and meditation practices from ancient tantric traditions. These practices allow you to experience moments of physical and mental stillness.
Each morning you will practice dynamic Vinyasa Yoga. The classes will be dynamic and challenging so you can deepen your practice. They are intended to build strength in the body and to utilize this existing flexibility for deeper posture variations.
Whether we see ourselves as beginners or advanced in our practice, we all have something to learn. As teachers, we provide both support and challenge to suit each individual's needs. Students can have the class at the end so that you can practice it again and why not, teach it to your students?
Students will also be acquainted with creative, intelligent sequencing and decoding anatomical principles across asana families to arrive at deeper, more advanced posture variations.
In this theoretical and practical module, you will learn new tools and refine old ones, such as:
- 3 tips to help you demonstrate less and observe more
-
prioritize observation and teach based on observation
-
7 things you should know when teaching beginners
-
tips for new yoga teachers
-
usage of props effectively
- demonstrating techniques
You will put all these tools in practicum by teaching in small groups. You will observe, give, and receive constructive feedback from the other students and your teachers.
Alignment:
The deepest expression is not the ‘most advanced’ shape of a pose. It's the breath and concentration required to practice it. We will learn how to organize the body to allow safety in the deepest expressions of asanas.
Hands-on adjustments:
It has become very common to get adjusted in yoga classes, with many students expecting to get adjusted. Since there are infinite possibilities of how to adjust different body types in a posture, adjusting has become an art.
While some students respond to verbal or visual instructions, others respond to hands-on adjustments. Adjustments are a very effective way of communicating with these students (the kinesthetic type). Often, the best way to understand something is not through information but through experience.
You will revise the most common vinyasa yoga postures. While in our 200hr YTT, we teach 1-2 adjustments for each pose, in this YTT, you will learn more adjustments for the same pose.
Anyone can teach yoga and put random asanas next to each other. Actually, many people do just that 🙂
But great sequencing is an art, showing your unique understanding of what an amazing class can look like. Initially, people come to your class to discover yoga, but they will eventually return because of your sequence, what you say, how you say it, and your understanding of the practice.
Great sequencing, along with hands-on adjustments, will have a real impact on your students' practice and make them come back for more.
This course is suitable for all yoga teachers. Whether you have just finished a 200hour YTT or you've been teaching for some time, this course has something for you. The most important prerequisite is to come with an open mind and get into a student's mindset. What a luxury that is - for the teacher to become a student again. You will connect with other passionate teachers, share ideas, and make friends.
At the end of the course, you will receive a 50-hour certificate of continuous education from Yoga Alliance USA. Therefore, you can use it to maintain your membership.
